Increase Thanksgiving

Written by Tripp Prince

Life with Jesus is a welcome and wonderful disruption.”

Thoughts from daily Bible reading for today – November 27, 2025

For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:15, ESV

Thanksgiving is not simply an annual holiday but is meant to be a way of life.

As those who have encountered and experienced the transforming grace of God, the love that frees us from sin and death and leads us into the hope and promise of resurrection life, we should be the most joyful and thankful people around! Let me reiterate that again: Christians should be known for their overflow of gratitude and joy!

The thanksgiving that you and I have for God’s love should be contagious. In truth, this is the heart of genuine evangelism, not born out of strategies or methods of conversion but the authentic overflow of one grateful heart to another. This is how the Lord works and moves in the lives of people as we bear witness to the hope we have in Christ.

If you take your faith seriously, it will demand a great deal from you. In truth, it asks for nothing less than your entire life! Your faith will reshape how you fill your schedule, what you eat, and where you spend your money. Some may find this to be a difficult or severe truth. However, can’t we say the same about any relationship built upon love? When you fall in love with a man or woman, it has the power to upend your entire life, touching your time, wallet, and priorities in countless ways! Yet when love is at the root, this is the most welcome and wonderful disruption.

Life with Jesus is a welcome and wonderful disruption. It will impact and reshape every single corner of your life. No stone is left unturned, which means no part of your life is left unhealed. The grace of God transforms and restores everything it encounters when met with a humble, receptive, and thankful heart.

Prayer

Father, may our encounter of your grace lead to an overflow of love for you and others, that thankfulness will increase each and every day, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Application

Consider how your life with God and others can grow and deepen in the experience of the joy of the Lord and thankfulness as a way of life.
