“Jesus is our anchor in uncertainty, our peace in the unknown, and our refuge when life feels overwhelming.”
Thoughts from daily Bible reading for today – January 11, 2026
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
The turning of the calendar invites reflection. A fresh year feels like a blank page full of unknowns, possibilities, and questions. Some of us step into 2026 with excitement, others with hesitation, and many with a tender mix of both. Yet no matter how we enter this new year, one unshakable truth steadies our hearts: the God who goes before us is the same God who brought us through every moment of the year behind us.
We don’t know what the next twelve months will hold, but we do know who holds us. God’s faithfulness isn’t seasonal. It doesn’t rise and fall with circumstances. His character remains steadfast. Jesus is our anchor in uncertainty, our peace in the unknown, and our refuge when life feels overwhelming.
As we look back on the past year, we can trace His fingerprints even in the places that were hard. The prayers He answered and the ones He is still unfolding. The strength He supplied on days we didn’t think we’d make it. The comfort He gave in our sorrow. The hope He breathed into our weary souls. The same God who saw us through will not abandon us now.
A new year doesn’t require us to muster up fresh courage on our own. It invites us to rely on the God who has already proven Himself faithful. When fears whisper, His faithfulness speaks louder. When uncertainty looms, His promises stand firm. When our hearts ache with what we carry, His presence becomes our steadying grace.
So, as 2026 begins, we don’t walk forward with confidence in ourselves — we walk forward with confidence in Him. The One who never changes. The One who keeps His word. The One who walks beside us moment by moment.
Friends, as we embark on another new year, leave the striving behind. Release the pressure of trying to control what you cannot see. Instead, let your heart rest in this truth:
God is already in every tomorrow, waiting with love, strength, and enough grace for each step you take.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

Father God, as 2026 unfolds my prayer is simple – whatever you ask of me, my answer is yes. Shape me, lead me, and steady me along the way. My life is yours, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
