“Fatherhood is not about perfection, but about presence. It’s about humility, forgiveness, and leading with integrity.”
Thoughts from daily Bible reading for today – June 15, 2025
The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. Proverbs 23:24
Father’s Day is more than just a holiday on the calendar—it’s a sacred opportunity to honor the men who have shaped our lives, guided our steps, and stood as pillars of strength and wisdom. Fathers play a unique and irreplaceable role in the family, not only through their provision and protection but through the spiritual and moral legacy they leave behind.
At their best, earthly fathers serve as living examples of our Heavenly Father. They offer a glimpse of God’s love, compassion, and righteousness. Just as our Heavenly Father is patient, merciful, and faithful, fathers are called to reflect those same qualities in their homes and communities. In a world where many are longing for direction and hope, a godly father can be a steady light, pointing his family to Christ not just with words, but with his life.
Ephesians 6:4 reminds fathers not to provoke their children to anger, but to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. This is a sacred calling. Fatherhood is not about perfection, but about presence. It’s about humility, forgiveness, and leading with integrity.
This Father’s Day, let us take time to honor the fathers who have walked this journey with grace and grit. Whether it’s through a heartfelt word, a shared memory, or a simple act of gratitude, let them know their role matters deeply. And for those who may not have had the presence of a loving father, may you find healing in the perfect love of our Heavenly Father, who never fails, never leaves, and never stops pursuing us.
To all the fathers – thank you. Keep pressing into Jesus. Keep loving well. Keep leading faithfully. Because your example echoes far beyond your home – it reflects the heart of God.
“For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him” (Genesis 18:19).
