Never Leaves You

Written by Boyd Bailey

Thoughts from daily Bible reading for today – September 6, 2014

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

God the Father never lets go of His child—God the Son saves a lost soul once and for all—God the Spirit seals a believer with eternal security. There is a completeness that accompanies faith in Christ. He is stable in the middle of instability. He is a rock in the center of swirling circumstances. He is a light that disturbs the darkest darkness. The Lord does not let go of what’s His. Yes, once a child of God, always a child of God!

But we may ask, “What about past indiscretions that brought shame and embarrassment?” “Can’t foolish living disqualify me from being a Christian?” Eternal salvation and acceptance are not based on our fickle behavior, but on Christ’s unchanging character. We can stray, but He is there. We can doubt, but He is there. We can mess up, but He is there. The Lord is always there to lift us up, give us hope, offer us wisdom, and fully restore us. Have no fear for He is near!

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5).

Thank you for this reminder, your words were a timely blessing. I’m going through a dark season in my life, God is dealing with me on somethings; and it is uncomfortable, nevertheless, I will walk through it. I am a cult survivor and many times I’ve felt like I walked along, and many times Jesus has gently reminded me that, “He will never leave or forsake me.” Thank you for the confirmation.

My 32 yr old, adopted daugbter is living homeless. My only child. My heart is broken and I grieve daily. Truth in todays reading is always comforting. May God always and forever be comforting her withthe reasurance of His love and mine. Some days r more tban I can bear. So Jesus bears tbe day….and carries us all. Praise be to a loving forgiving, merciful, eternal Heavenly Father, God.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
    John 10:27-30

    Dear Joy~
I read your blog comment a few times and can sense your heavy heart. As a mom, I know that your love for your daughter is so deep, as well as your concerns. I am thankful that you found some reassurance in the devotional and that you were reminded that HE WILL NEVER leave you or your daughter.
Joy, (by the way I love your name and I imagine it speaks about you as a person: JOY)hold onto the fact that God loves your daughter more that you can possibly imagine. In your quiet time, read John 10:27-30. Jesus talks about “His sheep” and how He cares for them (for us).
You said it beautifully : “Praise be to a loving, forgiving, merciful, eternal Heavenly Father, God”.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Joy, and your daughter. If you could, would you let us know how you all are doing in the days ahead? Thank you.

    Dear Carrie~
Thank you for your encouraging words! I am so sorry that your devotional was not waiting for you this a.m. Unfortunately, this happens from time to time.
Occasionally, several email providers block wisdom hunter without our knowledge. I will resubscribe your email address today and hopefully, that will take care of it. Please let me know if it does not.
Also, if you haven’t already, please add : info@mail.wisdomhuntersdevotional.com to your address book and this will help if the devotional is getting sent to your junk
    mail.
We are so sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

As far as the “perfect timing” of the devotional~ It Is All God!!!!He has a way of doing that, doesn’t He? It never ceases to amaze me. He loves us so much and gets His words to us somehow! I just love that!
Have a wonderful day. Blessings to you and yours.
    Believing and trusting~
