“Fixed on the easel of the Lord’s love, your beauty continues to radiate with the glow of God’s grace.”
Thoughts from daily Bible reading for today – October 20, 2025
Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. Psalm 34:5
There is a transforming radiance or beauty that appears in a person who lingers in the presence of the Lord, seeking to be loved by Him. Shame has no place on the face of someone who gazes upon the face of perfect love. Radiance shines on the faces of His children because looking into His righteous face makes us resemble our Father. No spots of shame, only beautiful faces.
When you consistently turn your gaze toward God, something beautiful occurs—His love changes your very appearance. The persistent worry lines soften. The defensive stance relaxes. The guarded face opens into genuine warmth. Shadows of shame cannot survive in the light of perfect love. Like Moses descending from Mount Sinai, those who spend time with God carry His radiance on their faces. People notice something different—not makeup or perfect features, but the inner glow of someone who knows they are unconditionally loved and fully accepted.
What does your face reveal? I recently was with a man who seemed to have a scowl permanently etched on his face. What pain had he endured in life? I wondered. What wound was still open, unattended, and worsening? Our faces become maps of our inner world. That man’s enduring scowl indicated unhealed wounds and disappointments that had hardened into bitterness. Maybe betrayal taught him to guard against hope. Perhaps loss convinced him the world was unsafe. Our expressions show where we’ve been living—in resentment’s shadows or grace’s light. Chronic anger leaves deep furrows. Persistent worry creates constant tension. But time spent with the Lord tells different stories: peace softens harsh lines, love brightens tired eyes.
How do you face life’s troubles? Trying to face them down with sheer willpower or first coming face-to-face with your Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ? The only way to effectively face down fear is by first looking into the loving face of Jesus. When crises hit, our natural response is to square our shoulders and fight through with determination alone. But willpower eventually exhausts itself against overwhelming circumstances. The stronger approach begins with turning toward Jesus first—letting His peace calm your racing heart, His wisdom guide your decisions, His strength sustain your efforts. Fear loses its paralyzing grip when you’ve first gazed into love’s calming countenance. From that secure foundation, you can face anything life brings with supernatural courage and a clear perspective. Grace gives you a beautiful look as you live life.
You are a beautiful, beloved child of the King! Dismiss any other ideas or lies trying to tell you otherwise. By faith, look into the mirror of love and reflect back what you see. His generous love will continue to shape you into His beautiful bride. God’s grace only creates what’s attractive and inviting, for there is no room for shame or feelings of insignificance. As the old hymn affirms, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace.” Yes, you are divine workmanship, with the Spirit constantly chipping away and perfecting you until the day of your homegoing. Fixed on the easel of the Lord’s love, your beauty continues to radiate with the glow of God’s grace.

Lord, as I gaze upon Your face, make me beautiful with Your holiness. Transform my heart, reflect Your love through me, and let my life shine with Your radiant glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Application
Ask the Lord to show you how beautiful you are to Him as you reflect the beauty of His holiness.
